How People Poisoning the Seas

We become most aware of sea pollution when we hear news reports of a tanker running around and spilling. However, most marine pollution is happening. Sewers discharge human waste into the sea, chimneys
belch chemicals that will enter the oceans when it rains and industries release chemicals into the sea.

Worldwide, fisherman discard or lose more than 100,00 tonnes of fishing line and netting each year. Atmospheric pollution may be adding to the green house effect and causing global warming. Changes in ocean currents caused by global warming are likely to have a great impact on life on land as well as in the sea.
